Definately the Help me Throu in Bury. This little gem has re opened with two guys as new landlords. The pub has had a total freshen up. And theyve put some freshness back into the place. I think its a party pub, theres music, singers, karoke, bingo, quizes, open mic nights. Plus dominos and darts competitions. There is something for everyone. Theyve a good selection of drinks behind the bar, pretty much something for everyone. They serve bar meals, which are FABULOUS. And their pies are home made and delicious. Staff are so warming and friendly and will do whatever to make sure youve had a good nite.

I am a member of a local ‘knit & natter’ group . We meet at the Crown & Thistle on Tuesday evenings and have always been made most welcome. I think it is important for community groups to meet in such an hospitable venue, offer other people the chance to join in, share skills whilst socialising – what could be better!

The Help me Thro’ in Bury is an absolutely fantastic pub. Recently taken over by Stephen and Tom who have transformed it from a dreary and lifeless pub into a mecca for locals who can enjoy games, quiz nights, karaoke as well as professional singers.
What also makes the pub stand out is the quality of the food that is served from basic snacks, pizzas, main meals including Sunday roast.

The Help Me Thro, Bury.
This pub deserves to win Pub of the Month because it has completely brought the community back to life. Since Stephen and Tom took over, the place has been transformed into one of the most welcoming, friendly and entertaining pubs around.
There’s always something happening, live singers, karaoke, quiz nights, bingo, darts, dominoes, open mic nights and fantastic weekend entertainment. The atmosphere is brilliant whether you’re calling in for a quiet pint, food with family or a full night out with friends.
The food is absolutely superb too, especially the homemade pies and Sunday roasts. Staff go out of their way to make everyone feel welcome and it genuinely feels like the heart of the local community again.
What also makes The Help Me Thro stand out is that they welcome campervan and motorhome stopovers, which is fantastic for visitors exploring Bury and the surrounding area. It’s perfectly placed for people wanting to visit places like Burrs Country Park, the East Lancashire Railway, Ramsbottom, Holcombe Hill and the famous Peel Tower. There are loads of beautiful walking routes nearby, local events throughout the year and great transport links into Manchester too.
Pubs like this are exactly what Britain needs more of…. independent, community driven, welcoming to everyone and run by people who genuinely care. The Help Me Thro isn’t just a pub anymore, it’s become a destination.

Bursley Ale House,
Burslem,
Stoke on Trent.
A friendly community pub, set within one of Burslems’ historic buildings that offers a warm welcome to regular faces & new customers alike.
A roaring log burner awaits those wanting a cosy beer of a winters night, and a large front Beer garden which acts as a sun trap for those that are sun worshippers in the Summertime, and has a long gazebo for those of us who want to keep cool.
Dogs & children friendly, they have a well stocked bar, with something for everyone.
A great selection of real ales are to be found, with two permanent beers and the other pumps have a varying & ever changing selection of guest beers.
The pub has an array of entertainment on, from a weekly Bingo session, a cheese & port night, pub quiz night , a prosecco deal night for the ladies & live singers who perform inside during the winter months, or outside in the beer garden throughout the summer.
They also sport a Ladies Dart team, and are currently seeking to welcome other pub sport teams to represent the Bursley in other local pub leagues.
Upstairs, there is a spacious function room, for parties, celebrations or community groups.
They have a range of bar snacks served daily, from jacket potatoes to toasties and more, which present outstanding value for money, apart from matchdays, when they have the BBQ fired up in the front beer garden.
They endeavour to give the customer what they want, and have a customer suggestion box at the end of the bar.
Open 7 days a week, well behaved customers are welcome of all ages.

Throstles Nest, Congleton CW12
Every member of staff at The Throstles including the owner, are absolutely superb. Easily the best pub around — I barely drink anywhere else now!
Such a friendly atmosphere every time you walk in, even if it’s just to pop in and say hello as you pass. Couldn’t recommend it more highly.
Throstles Nest, Congleton. This is a great little pub where the bar staff are friendly and always happy to see you. Along with having quiz nights and live music, it is dog friendly. The biggest plus for me is their range of cask ales, which they change frequently. Did I mention the prices are great too.
The Crown and Thistle, Kidsgrove- such a welcoming pub and john always makes us feel at home. All staff are a credit to him and he should be proud.
Hog Noggins Burslem
A great pub with a brilliant atmosphere, the staff are friendly put so much effort in to make sure everyone has a great time. Definitely got my vote 👍🏻
