A night out in Suffolk turned tragic after a fight outside a pub led to the death of a 71-year-old man.
A jockey has now admitted responsibility in court.
What Happened
The incident took place outside the Waggon and Horses on 8 March 2025.
A fight involving four people broke out, leaving Richard Wingrove, 71, with serious injuries.
He was taken to hospital in a critical condition but sadly died 10 days later.
Court Update
At Peterborough Crown Court, 26-year-old Levi Williams admitted manslaughter.
He had originally been charged with murder, but prosecutors accepted the lesser charge.
Williams has been released on bail and is due to be sentenced on 4 June.
Others Involved
Two other men were also injured during the incident and were taken to hospital before later being discharged.
Police confirmed:
- A 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm
- A 45-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of affray
Both have since been released under investigation as enquiries continue.
