Veteran comedian Jim Davidson has admitted he “found out what legless means” after collapsing outside a pub following what he described as an epic all-day drinking session on the Isle of Wight.
The 72-year-old entertainer was helped to his feet by friends after stumbling outside Salty’s in Yarmouth, bringing an eventful day of food, drinks and laughter to an unforgettable end.
Despite the tumble, Davidson has taken the incident in good humour, joking that it was probably “that last scotch” that finally caught up with him.
A Day That Started in Style
The comedian had travelled to the Isle of Wight aboard his £350,000 yacht, Lady Natasha, named after his fiancée, Natasha.
The couple enjoyed lunch at The Hut, a well-known waterfront restaurant overlooking Colwell Bay, before Natasha called it a night.
Jim, however, had other ideas.
After meeting fellow yachtsmen, the evening turned into an impromptu pub session that lasted well into the night.

Speaking afterwards, Davidson openly admitted he may have overdone it.
“I found out what the term legless means.”
He explained that the evening began with a couple of bottles of wine before moving on to tequila, vodka, six pints of Guinness and finally a couple of whiskies.
Reflecting on the evening, he joked:
“It Was Harmless Fun”
“I think it must have been that last scotch that did it.”
Ending the Night at Salty’s
The drinking session eventually came to an end outside Salty’s, one of Yarmouth’s popular pubs overlooking the harbour.
After losing his footing, Davidson was helped up by friends before continuing on his way.
Despite photographs of the incident circulating online, the comedian appeared unfazed and was happy to laugh at himself.
Davidson insisted the evening was simply a case of friends enjoying themselves.
“We had a smashing meal… then I decided to go on the p***.”
“It was a bit of harmless fun, no one died.”
He also admitted he enjoys a binge when he’s not working but insists he never drinks while performing.
With a packed schedule that includes long drives, live shows and filming commitments, Davidson said work always comes first.
A Reminder to Drink Responsibly
While Davidson was happy to joke about his night out, the incident serves as a reminder that excessive alcohol can have serious consequences.
Fortunately, in this case, the comedian escaped with nothing more than a bruised ego, a few helping hands from friends and a story he’ll no doubt be telling for years to come.
