Leith Favourite The Dreadnought Crowned CAMRA Edinburgh Pub of the Year 2026

A much-loved pub in Leith has once again taken the spotlight after being crowned Edinburgh Pub of the Year 2026 by Campaign for Real Ale.

The Dreadnought secured the prestigious title following years of consistent recognition, having previously dominated the awards with a four-year winning streak from 2018.

The North Fort Street venue also came close in recent years, finishing as runner-up in 2023 before reclaiming the top spot this year.

Run by landlord Toby Saltonstall, the pub has built a strong reputation for its dedication to quality real ale and its welcoming, community-focused atmosphere — two key factors that continue to impress CAMRA judges.

The award highlights not just the quality of the beer, but the role pubs like The Dreadnought play in keeping local communities alive. Known for its inclusive environment, the venue has become a staple for both locals and visitors looking for an authentic pub experience in the capital.

CAMRA’s annual awards celebrate pubs that go above and beyond in promoting real ale, maintaining high standards, and creating spaces where people can come together.

For The Dreadnought, this latest win marks a return to the top — and reinforces its place as one of the standout pubs in Edinburgh.
